We are often asked a range of similar questions pertaining to our production methods and ordering our products.

Below you will find a list of our most commonly asked questions.

Where do you deliver and at what cost?

We deliver all throughout the Adelaide metropolitan areas, as north as Semaphore and Modbury, as south as Victor Harbor and as far west as Strathalbyn and the Adelaide Hills areas.

Delivery into city areas occurs each Thursday.

Delivery is FREE OF CHARGE for orders of $200+. Orders under $200 incur a $25 delivery fee.

 

Can I pick up my order?

Yes!

Bulk orders (side or beef, lamb or pork) can be collected from the farmgate at 5455 Main South Rd, Wattle Flat.

Smaller, custom orders can be collected from our retail store at 102 Main South Rd, Yankalilla.

A staff member will inform you of the correct pickup location upon order.

 

How long is the ordering process for bulk buy of sides or whole body?

We hang our beef for a minimum of 14 days and our lamb for a minimum of 7 days. Pork we do not typically hang too long but is subject to availability based on season and litter size.

Therefore the maximum wait time for bulk orders is generally two weeks.

We always like to have meat hanging ahead of time though to keep our ordering system flowing smoothly and customers satisfied, so it is quite possible that you could receive your order much earlier than this wait time!

How much deposit is required upon bulk order?

We ask for a deposit of $50.00 per side for bulk orders of lamb/pork and $200 per side for bulk orders of beef.

Customised smaller orders are priced on an individual basis.

 

When will I have the final cost of my bulk order?

As soon as the animal is delivered back to Wakefield Grange from the abattoir we are able to provide you with a more accurate bulk costing based on the weight of the animal.

We will always call or email with the exact costing prior to your collection or delivery.

Do you sell individual cuts or just bulk buy?

Yes!

Our retail shop is open Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm and weekends 9am-4pm.

Our retail store is located at 102 Main South Rd, Yankalilla.

What are your hours of business?

Farmgate Processing Facility (wholesale trade only):

Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm

Wakefield Grange Butchery & Grocer Store

Mon – Fri 9am – 5.30pm
Sat & Sun 9am – 4.30pm

 

Do you offer preservative free products?

Yes!

We can make preservative free sausages by order, with a minimum order requirement of 2kg.

Many of our flavoured ready-made meal options, burgers, corned silversides and marinades are naturally preservative free also.

Wakefield Grange has a company policy that bans the use of MSG on ANY of our products.

 

Do you offer gluten free products?

Yes!

Most of our marinades and sausage flavourings are gluten free!

We can also offer gluten free schnitzels and crumbed products by pre-order too at no additional charge.

 

Do you sell wholesale to restaurants & cafes?

Yes!

Please note that wholesale pricing is only relevant to bulk, re-occurring orders and for charity, not-for-profit and community organisations.

 

Do you slaughter the animals yourself?

No.

We utilise our local Normanville abattoir for the slaughtering process of our beef and lamb, which is located within 12km of our property.*

All pork is slaughtered at the Strathalbyn abattoir and poultry is taken to the Kapowie abattoir just out of Kapunda.

*Please note that Normanville Abattoir is currently closed due to renovation and will re-open in late 2016. All large livestock is currently transported to Strathalbyn for processing before returning to the farm for aging and butchery.

 

I am a farmer who would like my own stock butchered, do you provide this service?

Yes!

We can provide a butchering service to local farmers at the below rates:

Beef – Full Body $1.70p/kg bulk, $2.20p/kg portioned, cryovacced & labelled

Lamb & Pork – Full Body $2.00p/kg bulk, $2.50p/kg portioned, cryovacced & labelled

 

I have no way of getting my own stock to the abattoir, can you assist?

We offer a livestock transport service at a rate of $50 call out fee and $1.50p/km from your farm to the Normanville or Strathalbyn abattoir.
